I am proud to have represented the 10th House District in the Kansas Legislature for almost four years. The district includes the southeast corner of Lawrence, as well as Baldwin City and southeast Douglas County.
I serve on the House Health and Human Services Committee, Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, and Children and Seniors Committee.
I grew up in Oklahoma, but was always raised a Jayhawk. My parents both graduated from KU and took my siblings and me on regular trips to Lawrence to visit family, attend football games and watch basketball. I have vivid memories of the campus, downtown and rolling hills around Lawrence. I walked down the Hill in 2006 with a BFA in Graphic Design.
For the past nine years I have worked for the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a national non-profit that is making it easier for kids to eat better and move more in the places where they spend their time. As Manager of Training and Professional Development, I manage the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the organization’s in-person and online training and professional development.
While I’m immensely proud of my professional experience, it is my family that brings me the most happiness. I married the love of my life, Jami, in 2011. That year we also bought a home in the Centennial Neighborhood of Lawrence and have spent nearly every waking moment fixing it up and making it a home for our family, which includes our three year old son.
